The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) is holding its 20th Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, taking place 29th May to 3rd June.
IFAN’s Business Development Manager, Francesca Pradelli, will be attending IALA’s event in Brazil. Ms Pradelli said: ““It’s a great opportunity to bring together the maritime community and discuss key issues around safety at sea and the protection of the marine environment. I’m looking forward to meeting with country delegates and industrial members representatives to discuss how the maritime sector can work towards a sustainable future for marine aids to navigation innovation”.
Middle East Navigation Aids Service (MENAS), a subsidiary of IFAN, General Manager, Mahdi Al Mosawi, has been invited to speak on Sunday 28th May to delegates in Brazil. Mr Al Mosawi will be presenting during the IALA World-Wide Academy Pre-Conference Seminar which will be focusing on the future of digitalisation and the necessary skills required and challenges ahead. Mr Al Mosawi will give a presentation on how Aids to Navigation technicians navigate in a digital world.
He said: “It’s a pleasure to be invited to speak on key industry issues at IALA’s 20th Conference. I look forward to discussing why training and new technology for Aids to Navigation (AtoN) equipment is vital to improve safety but also protect our environment. Upskilling is vital to stay ahead of the curve.”
